Duke, UNC tie for pre season favorite – Singler pre season player fo the year

Greensboro, N.C. - The Blue Devil Nation was on hand for today's ACC Operation Basketball and the voting for All ACC and the projected standings were just released.

Duke and UNC tied for first place in the voting.  The Blue Devils got the most first place votes at 25, while UNC had 20, but the Heels were picked higher in many ballots which helped them tie Duke for the top spot.

Clemson was picked third, Georgia Tech fourth, Maryland fifth, Wake Forest sixth, Florida State seventh, Virginia Tech eighth, Boston College ninth, Miami tenth, Virginia eleventh and N.C. State at twelth.

Kyle Singler got 19 votes to Grievas Vasquez 15 votes, making the two the leaders in the pre season player of the year honors.   Singler was the first Duke player pick player of the year since JJ Redick.

Derrick Favors was tabbed as rookie of the year with UNC's Jon Henson getting a few votes.  The All ACC team is Vasquez, Davis, Booker, Singler, Delaney.
