KANSAS CITY – Fresh off his break-out performance (25 points, 12 rebounds / 6 offensive, 5 blocks and 3 assists), BDN had the opportunity to sit down with Mason Plumlee in the locker room shortly after the game. Here are a few highlights from that conversation:
Terry Rains: “Mason, first congrats on tonight’s win and an overall good showing. Can you share your thoughts on your individual performance tonight?”
Mason Plumlee: “It came together today. I really felt comfortable out there on the floor. This is probably the most minutes I’ve played since I’ve been here.”
Terry Rains: “You certainly looked comfortable out there. Do you think your comfort level led to the increased minutes or did the increased minutes led to the additional comfort?”
Mason Plumlee: “No, it’s not a minutes thing; it’s more of a rhythm thing. I was able to get a few rebounds and a few dunks early and really get into the flow of the offense. I’m really getting comfortable with my offense on the low block.”
Terry Rains: “I noticed that you spent a lot of time on the court with Kyle Singler playing as the second big man. Are there certain big men pairings that work best for you, or combinations that you feel most comfortable in?”
Mason Plumlee: “Not really… Everyone loves playing with Kyle. He’s a great player and passer. Ryan’s also a great post passer. And Miles… he’s really been great in practice lately. He’s really been playing great. I expect him to have a breakout game as well soon.”
