The Opening Tip

• Duke (14-2, 2-0 ACC) faces Clemson (9-7, 1-1 ACC) on Sunday, Jan. 15 at Littlejohn Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 9:05 p.m.

• Jon Sciambi (play-by-play), Hubert Davis (analyst) and Allison Williams (sideline) will call the game for ESPNU.

• Duke is ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll and No. 6 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. Clemson is unranked in both polls. The Blue Devils are 69-16 all-time when ranked eighth in the AP Poll.

• Each of the Duke’s last three games have been decided by 10 points or less. The Blue Devils are 8-1 on the year in games decided by 10 points or less.

• Duke is one of three teams in the NCAA to rank in the top 10 of the RPI, Strength of Schedule, AP and Coaches Polls.

• The Blue Devils scored a season-low 61 points in Thursday’s win over Virginia.

Duke-Clemson Series

• Duke and Clemson have met 132 times heading into Sunday’s game with the first meeting between the two schools coming in 1926.

• The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 103-29, including a 23-17 mark at Littlejohn Coliseum.

• Duke has won three straight games and 25 of the last 27 in the series.

• Mike Krzyzewski is 49-11 at Duke against Clemson, including a 19-8 mark at Littlejohn Coliseum. Coach K was sidelined with a back injury during a road loss to Clemson on Feb. 4, 1995.

• Duke has won 10 of the last 11 road games in the series.

• The Blue Devils have posted a double-figure win in 18 of the last 22 games played between the two schools.

• Duke has held Clemson to 53.0 points per game over the last three contests. The Blue Devils have a +14.3 scoring margin in that span.

Numbers Game

l With 841 wins at Duke, Mike Krzyzewski has 104 more wins at his school than the remaining 11 ACC coaches combined. The other league coaches have combined for 737 victories at their current institutions.

l Duke ranks 11th in the NCAA in scoring (80.8 pg.) despite facing five teams that rank in the top 40 nationally in scoring defense. Clemson will be the Blue Devils sixth opponent that is allowing fewer than 60.0 ppg. on the year.

l The Blue Devils have had at least four players score in double figures in 10 games, including Thursday’s win over Virginia. Duke is 10-0 when at least four players score 10 or more points.

l Duke ranks sixth in the NCAA in field goal percentage (.499). Miles and Mason Plumlee are a combined 65.2 percent (120-of-184) on the year.

l Mason Plumlee ranks second in the ACC in rebounding at 9.6 rpg. He has led the Blue Devils in rebounding 13 times overall this season, including 12 of the last 13 games.

l Quinn Cook ranks third in the NCAA with a 4.00:1 assist-to-turnover ratio (minimum 2.0 apg.). Cook has nine turnovers in 201 minutes for an average of 22.3 minutes between turnovers.

l Tyler Thornton has made seven consecutive three-point field goals over the last five games. He is 12-of-21 (.571) from behind the arc this season.

l The Plumlee brothers have each blocked at least one shot in eight straight games. On the season, those two have 51 of Duke’s 77 blocks for 66.2 percent of the team total.

l The Blue Devils have held Clemson to a .188 (9-of-48) three-point shooting percentage over the last three meetings. Clemson has not shot over 21.1 percent from beyond the arc against Duke since Feb. 4, 2009.
