DURHAM – The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Virginia Cavaliers 42-17 on Saturday, behind a strong second half defensive performance. The Blue Devil defense shutout Phillip Sims and the Virginia offense in the second half, holding them to just 2 yards rushing. For the game, they held the Wahoos to 4/16 on 3rd down and 0/3 on 4th down. Veteran defenders Kenny Anunike (1 sack), Walt Canty (14 tackles), and Ross Cockrell (1 INT) all played a big part in the victory and BDN was on hand to hear from them after the big victory.
