2015 Duke Football Schedule Announced

DURHAM, N.C. -- Six total home dates, including a non-conference matchup with Big Ten foe Northwestern, highlight the 2015 Duke football schedule released on Thursday by the ACC office.

Duke opens the 2015 campaign on the road at Tulane on Thursday, September 3 in New Orleans.  The Blue Devils will then enjoy the friendly confines of Wallace Wade Stadium for four consecutive weeks with home tilts against N.C. Central (Sept. 12), Northwestern (Sept. 19), Georgia Tech (Sept. 26) and Boston College (Oct. 3).

Week six features a trip to West Point, N.Y., to face Army on October 10 with the season’s lone open date the followingSaturday.  Duke then closes out the month of October with a road game at Virginia Tech (Oct. 24) and a home affair versus Miami (Oct. 31).

The Blue Devils will be on the road in three of four weeks in the final month of the regular season, starting with a Saturday, November 7 date in Chapel Hill against North Carolina.  After the campaign’s final home game – a date with Pittsburgh onNovember 14 – Duke closes the regular season at Virginia (Nov. 21) and Wake Forest (Nov. 28).

Six of Duke’s 11 FBS opponents played in a bowl game a season ago and the 12 opponents combined for a 2014 overall record of 70-81 (.464).

Coming off last year’s 9-4 campaign that included an appearance in the 81st Hyundai Sun Bowl, Duke returns 15 starters and 51 lettermen for head coach David Cutcliffe’s eighth squad.
