Duke 2nd Half Rally Dumbfounds UNC

After being down by a 35-25 score at the half, Duke rallied to beat UNC 74-64 in Cameron Indoor Stadium.  The Blue Devils had a 20 point swing on their way to 49 second half points.

Duke was led by Marvin Bagley III who had another double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds.   He scored 18 points during a key Duke run.

Duke used a 9-0 run to take a 52-50 lead on a Gary Trent Jr. three-point bucket.  The Blue Devils never looked back.  The Tar Heels struggled to get their offense going down the stretch as Duke continued to play an active zone.

It helped the Blue Devils when the crowd came alive as Cameron Indoor Stadium got very loud.  From the midway point in the second half, Duke played with a lot of bounce and energy where they started garnering every loose ball and rebound.

Grayson Allen added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists on his Senior Night.  He addressed the crowed after the game and promised them that more is to come.

Duke got good points from its bench outscoring the Tar Heels 13-4.  The defense shut down the Tar Heel reserves while Trevon Duval had 6 assists and 7 points as the Duke sixth man.

Gary Trent Jr. added 13 points and 5 rebounds and as usual he nailed some big buckets.  Wendell Carter Jr added 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Duke scored 15 points off turnovers and had 8 blocked shots on the night.  The defense also accounted for 12 steals   After hitting one three point shot in the first half, Duke knocked down eight in the second.  Duke also shared the ball better with 16 assists, 13 of which came after the break.

With the win Duke clinched second place in the upcoming ACC Tournament where they will play on Thursday at 7:00.  Duke moves to 25-6 on the season with a 13-5 mark in the league.
