ACC Hoops Moves to 20 Game Scheduling

DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today the future matchups of the league’s 20-game men’s basketball schedule, which begins with the 2019-20 season. The 20-game matrix is in effect for three years through the 2021-22 season.

Each team will play its two primary rivals every season both home and away (four games) and four repeat opponents both home and away (eight games). The remaining eight opponents will be single games, four at home and four on the road. The full cycle of repeat opponents will be complete following the third year.

Duke’s two primary rivals for this cycle are North Carolina and Wake Forest. Next season, the Blue Devils will be scheduled with home-and-road games against the Tar Heels and Demon Deacons, along with home-and-road games against NC State, Virginia Tech, Miami and Boston College.

At home only next season, Duke will welcome Louisville, Florida State, Notre Dame and Pitt to Cameron Indoor Stadium. On the road only, the Blue Devils will battle Virginia, Syracuse, Clemson and Georgia Tech.

Duke Debuts as Top Seed

DURHAM, N.C. -- The NCAA Men’s Basketball Selection Committee has unveiled its initial list of top 16 seeds for the 2019 NCAA Tournament, with the Duke Blue Devils owning the overall No. 1-seed. The announcement was made Saturday on CBS’s March Madness Bracket Preview Show.

At 20-2 overall and in a first-place tie in the ACC at 8-1, the Blue Devils are ranked No. 2 in both the AP and Coaches polls, while ranking No. 3 in the NET (NCAA Evaluation Tool). Duke’s seventh-ranked strength of the schedule is the best of any team in the NET’s top 10. Duke has more wins over AP top 15 ranked teams (5-1) than any team in the country.

With Duke occupying the overall top spot in the committee’s initial ranking, the Blue Devils are followed by Tennessee, Virginia and Gonzaga as the program’s that would have the four No. 1-seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Duke and Virginia battle tonight at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN with the Blue Devils looking to sweep the season series.

The remainder of the committee’s ranking also includes ACC teams North Carolina and Louisville. The Blue Devils have four remaining regular season games against these 15 squads.

Duke Basketball Team & Recruiting Update

Brandon Boston is one of the key targets who will get a visit from the Duke staff this week and there are more.,

The Duke Blue Devils won their 20th game of the season in last nights dominating win over Boston College.  They will head to Charlottesville next but the staff is not just resting and preparing for that game.
