The Multi-Talented Marvin Bagley III

Marvin Bagley

A season ago, Duke fans saw the amazing motor Marvin Bagley III had on the basketball court.  One thing, Bagley will never lack is energy and Sacremento King's fans will love that.

Last evening, Bagley had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers in their exhibition game.  Bagley is also teammates with former Duke player Harry Giles, who added 14 points and 7 rebounds of his own.

Bagley has long had other hobbies including singing and the world is about to find out about more about the multi-talented young man.  Bagley has also signed a lucrative deal with Puma as he looks to have an outstanding rookie season.

Wendell Moore Has Set a Decision Date

Key Duke Basketball prospect Wendell Moore Jr. announced his final four schools this afternoon and will choose his collegiate hoops destination this coming Monday.

Moore is a five-star prospect from Concord, N.C. and a player the Blue Devils staff has coveted for a long time.    Chris Carrawell has been the lead assistant recruiter for the Blue Devils and Mike Kryzyzewski has been heavily involved.

The Cox Mill product would likely start for the Blue Devils where they expect to lose up to four players to the NBA Draft.

Moore is 6-5, 215 and can play multiple positions.  He is also being heavily recruited by N.C. State and has North Carolina and Wake Forest on his list.

Duke Basketball Offers Boogie Ellis

The Duke Blue Devils basketball program offered a scholarship Boogie Ellis last evening.  Ellis caught the Blue Devil attention during the Nike Peach Jam and they've followed him ever since,

Ellis is a four-star guard from San Diego, CA where he plays his high school basketball for Mission Bay.  He has been offered by Southern Cal, Oregon, Georgia Tech,  Arizona.

Duke rival, North Carolina has also shown interest and will host Ellis on October the 12th.  The star prospect will also visit Gonzaga and Memphis in October.   The Blue Devils may be able to persuade Ellis to get in for a visit around the same time he checks out the Tar Heels.

Ellis can score the ball be it from the perimeter or on drives to the basket.  He can also play both guard positions.  Duke has several roster spots open for 2019 prospects.  More on the Blue Devil Nation message board for members,

Duke Set to Go In-Home With Matthew Hurt

Matthew Hurt pictured right on his visit to Duke.

For those who do not know, the official contact period with basketball recruits gets back underway this coming Sunday.  One of the players who will get immediate attention is Rochester John Marshall forward Matthew Hurt.

Hurt is a can't miss talent that has garnered the attention of the nations top coaches.  And those coaches will be in-home with the talented young man and his family starting September the 9th.

The Duke Blue Devils Mike Krzyzewski will be in on that date, but so will Kansas coach Bill Self and Kentucky's John Calipari.  They will all have their pitches ready but his official visits to campuses have yet to be set.  Memphis, Minnesota and North Carolina are also heavily involved with Hurt and will be in later in the week.

It is no secret that Hurt fits the stretch four position at Duke in a most perfect way.  His skill set would likely thrive in the system which changes yearly to best fit their roster.

Duke is not only expected to have large roster turnover at this coming seasons end, they will for sure have starting spots opening up for elite level players.

Duke has had success with players from Minnesota in the past with Tyus Jones helping lead the team to a national title.  His brother Tre Jones is currently on the Duke roster as well.

The Blue Devils do not have a commitment in the 2019 class as of yet, but I discuss that in great detail in our latest recruiting update for site members and how teams are positioning themselves with a prized recruit in Hurt.  The update will go live just before noon today.

Duke recently lost Bryan Antoine to Villanova before he could visit campus and that is discussed along with the targeted prospects and what to expect in the coming month.
