Duke Freshman Center Jahlil Okafor as just been named both ACC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year by the ACC voting media. The Chicago, Illinois native helped lead Duke to a 28-3 regular season record and a soon to be announced 2nd ranked team in the country when the new polls come out. Okafor averaged 17.6 ppg to lead the Blue Devils in scoring. He also led Duke in rebounding, pulling down 9.2 boards per game while averaging 1.4 blocked shots per game. Okafor is considered by many to be the likely number one pick in the next NBA draft once he declares up the completion of the Blue Devils season. Okafor scored a career high 28 points against Boston College. Okafor is the first freshman ever to win the award.
