DURHAM, N.C. – One of the iconic venues in American sports, Cameron Indoor Stadium, has unveiled another spectacular interactive exhibit that fans will have their first chance to experience Saturday when Duke hosts Wake Forest at 12 p.m.
The new “CRAZIES WALL,” named in honor of Duke’s loyal Cameron Crazies, is located in the south end of Cameron Indoor Stadium, in the former location of the ticket office. The interactive display features actual midcourt sections from the playing floors that Duke won each of its last two National Championships (2010 and 2015), along with several tactile pieces of Cameron memorabilia, former player shoes, hand and foot prints of former Duke greats, and unforgettable Cameron Crazies moments and memories.
“This multi-sensory experience represents the very best of Duke Basketball at Cameron Indoor,” said Rachel Curtis, Duke’s Assistant Ahletic Director for Facility Branding. “It will now be part of a Cameron Experience Tour you just can’t miss.”
The exhibit, designed by ZEBRADOG of Madison, Wisc., features multiple digital displays running classic game highlights from the Coach K era, Nike commercials featuring Duke Basketball and ESPN promos and commercials involving the Blue Devils. Fans can measure their height, hand, and shoe size against former Duke players now in the NBA and other program greats, including Coach K and famous assistant coaches through time.
“It’s tough to get a ticket to see a game at Cameron. Now, fans can visit year round and experience all of that energy at the CRAZIES WALL,” said Mike Cragg, Deputy Director of Athletics at Duke University. “Our past, present and future are all right there."
The CRAZIES WALL is the latest in a number of additions and improvements to the Cameron Experience as Duke continues to keep Cameron Indoor Stadium the nation’s best college basketball venue. The Experience also features interactive exhibits located in the Rubenstein Pavilion Lobby and the Duke Basketball Museum & Athletics Hall of Fame in the Schwartz-Butters Building. The Cameron Experience is open daily at 8 a.m. On Saturdays, it opens at 9 a.m. (12 p.m. tip-off ONLY) or 10 a.m. (all other game times).
