The Duke Blue Devils staff called and offered 2013 prospect Matt Jones today. Jones has been on a roll of late on the circuit and impressed Coach Mike Krzyzewski with solid performances. Jones is a 6-4, 180 WG who plays his high school ball at De Soto in Texas and balls for the Texas Titans on the AAU circuit. Other schools that have showed interest in Jones are Baylor, Kansas and Texas.
Jones told Blue Devil Nation that Coach K called him and tendered an offer and that the Blue Devils head man said he was very impressed with his game. "He said I could really score the ball and that he wanted me to come to Duke for my collegiate career," said Jones.
The shooting guard is also the teammate of Julius Randle, a stud big man which the Blue Devils are also recruiting. Jones is a very effective offensive talent who is very fluid on the hardwood. While Jones didn't sneak up on anyone, he will almost assuredly move up in the rankings. Krzyzewski and Jeff Capel watched three of his games during the Nike EYBL Peach Jam and for more coverage on Jones and that event, join BDN Premium.
